Web GradeBook

The following information about using Gradebook over the web is straight from the experts; Dee Wiecher and Pat Byington.

From Dee Wiecher in September 2005;

Home Access to GradeBook is now available. To use the gradebook, you must first set a password for it in your gradebook at school. You set the password by entering a new password in the following location: From the menu item Pinnacle, select Change WGBA Password... Your password will be blank. (This means that you put nothing in the box for password, you leave it blank.) You should immediately change it to your gradebook password or one that has at least six characters with a mix of letters and numbers.

To access the gradebook go to

https://pin.kirkwood.k12.mo.us/

The Westchester school code is 406

If you have trouble with this address, please note that there is an "s" after the http. This is a special secure site; therefore, the address has https. You will have to click through some security screens before the gradebook opens.

From Pat Byington in December 2005;

If at home, your web gradebook is not working, you may need to clear the Java cache and throw away an extraneous file.

If you use Mac OS X

1. If there is a file called mac.jnlp on the desktop, throw the mac.jnlp file in the trash.

2. To clear the Java cache files: Throw away the Java Web Start file. You find it by choosing Home, then Library, then the cashes folder, then Java Web Start. It's the "Java Web Start" folder that you need to throw in the trash.

If you use Windows XP

1. On the C: drive, throw away the file called G2IP.

2. To clear the Java cache files: From the Start menu, select Settings, then Control Panel, then Java Plug-in. Double click on Java Plug-in. Click on the "Cache" tab. Click on the "Clear" button in the upper right corner.

Other Windows Operating Systems

1. On the C: drive, throw away the file called G2IP.

2. To clear the Java caches files: From the Start menu, select Control Panel, then Java. In the open window under the tab "General," in the section "Temporary Internet Files" click on the button "Delte Files..."
