| Software
for Student Use |
|
| Student Folder??? |
This
software is in the lab, but some of it will "break" with this
new operating system, Mac OS 10.4 or Tiger. Also, the software in mostly
licensed for use in the lab. Until that is extended to the rest of the building,
we will have to keep using a lot of our favorite software in the lab. |
| Rigby |
For reading |
Scholastic
• Reading Counts
• SRI |
Will we have the Management
Suite on these eMac's? I am not sure that is good. What do you think? It
can cause problems for the server, running backups and doing maintenance.
|
| |
|
| SmartBoard
Software |
|
| All the software for
SmartBoard |
You don't necesarily
need the SmartBoard to use this. It runs on your eMac which is connected
to your TV. So you can use Local Input to show your SmartBoard lesson to
your class, minus of course the large touch screen. |

|
| Printers |
|
| Printer (drivers) |
You can print to any
printer if you have the driver and you have it selected to print to. Your
old eMac probably had many printer drivers you are not using, since they
accumulate over time as people want a particular printer. I will start you
with a few drivers to the closest printers. If your favorite printer is
missing from the list, let me know. I will be sure you get it back. |
| Printers for GroupWise |
The printers for GroupWise
have to be selected separately from printers for other software. If I did
not get the right printer for you, let me know and I will get that fixed
for you. |
| Web CRD |
For submitting print
jobs from your computer over the network to the print center. |
| Toshiba Copy Machine |
Starting in February
06, we will be able to print to the Toshiba copy machine in the work room.
This could be convenient, but there a few niceties we have to learn to make
it work. Sue Hults and I will try to get us all up to speed on the great
new service. |
