What is Just 5 Clicks? This Just 5 Clicks web site is intended to cut paperwork for you teachers. Specifically, it is supposed to replace the data collection forms you had to fill out every year. Eventually, this Just 5 Clicks web site will cut the work you have to do with transition forms also. Dee says that this is her gift to you on her retirement! Use Firefox, not Safari Use your new 2006 eMac, because it has Firefox on it. Make sure you are logged into your teacher account on your eMac, not the student account. When Firefox opens it might ask you if you want to make it your default web browser. Tell it no, because Safari will be the primary browser for you for right now. Blocking Popup Windows has to be unchecked, because Just 5 Clicks uses popup windows. To uncheck blocking of popup windows, go to the Firefox menu, select preferences and un-check Blocking Popup Windows. Tracy and I hope to do this for you. We also hope to bookmark Quick_Ref in Firefox for you. Safari will probably work for you too, if you disable Blocking Popup Windows, but for various reasons this might not be a good idea. We will find out more about whether Safari can be used. How to Enter Data The most of the following directions are from Dee Wiecher: Enter your username which is the same as your teacher number or your login to the grade book. That is Gradebook, not Groupwise. Your password when you first login will be kirkwood. Click through the security warnings. If you get the dialog box asking you to Remember Password, say no, never remember password for this site, because the next step here is to change your password. And in the future, you will be asked to put it your password each time you go to Just 5 Clicks, which makes it more secure. Please make your new password the same as your grade book password so that it is easy to remember. You will have to enter your Gradebook password a second time to confirm it. You will see a page that has the words 1-Click Analytics for SMART/SLIDES at the top. If it just has your name, continue on. Go to the button that says QuickInput and click in the little circle. A new window will open listing some of the assessments that normally appear on the Data Collection Sheets. You will enter the data for only the assessment listed. (The rest are already entered into the new system for you.) Single click on the name of the assessment (in blue). The assessment names are hot links to the entry screens. A list of your students will appear. If a student is not assessed on one of the assessments, please uncheck the box under the column Take Test. That will tell the computer when all the assessments are completed. If a student is in Read 180 or if the reading teacher is supposed to assess the child, please ask that teacher to enter the data. Most of the scores to be input are percentages or a number in a range, like Rigby for early elementary students. Others require a short code-so you do not have to type very much information. To enter the First-Steps Phases, please use the following chart to determine the number to enter:
To enter the Recommended for ESY, you will need to use a code for yes and no.
When you finish entering scores, please click on Save Changes/Close Window. If all the scores are entered for every student, there will be a check under the Complete column. (Remember to uncheck any students for whom there is no assessment.) |
