One of the units we study in sixth grade social studies is

duties of Hindus.
- Examine the relationship among the five key Hindu beliefs; Brahman, multiple gods,

- Understand Buddhism and its failure to remain the dominant religion in India.
- Identify the Buddha and summarize the main principles of his teachings.
- Analyze reasons for Buddhism's failure to remain the dominant religion in India.
- Understand Ghandi's role in the independence of India.
- Appraise the role of Ghandi's personal beliefs on India's independence
movement and his influence over other leaders.
- Understand the creation of Pakistan following India's independence.
- Use a computer graphic organizer to arrange information on a timeline on
Pakistani independence.
