Dear Parents,

It is my hope that this website will allow your child to have all the resources they need in order to be successful students in my class. Under each class link is a description of the course and links to each unit we will cover in the class. Each unit link contains an assignment and reading schedule that includes major due dates. In order to help your child be successful, you may want to monitor the website for important due dates. Likewise, on each course page the units are arranged chronologically. All materials on the website will also be provided to your child in hard copy form in class. This website is simply a backup resource for students.

Two key areas that may be of interest are the Reading Room and the Writing Room. The Reading Room was designed to offer students the opportunity to read books outside of the required curriculum. Each quarter I will post a new book with support links for reading. At the end of the quarter, I will meet with students to discuss their thoughts on the book. You are more than welcome to read along and join our discussion.

The Writing Room is the key resource center for students who need assistance with writing. In the Writing Room there are links for paragraphs, microthemes, and essays. There is also links to peer editing suggestions that can be used for all writing. If your child asks for assistance with their writing, the Writing Room will offer the structured resources they need to be successful.

Thank you for visiting this site and please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Karen Ambuehl
